    With experience designing impactful visuals for non-profit events and campaigns, Rachel has contributed to meaningful projects that serve the community, blending artistry and strategy to drive engagement. 


    Outside of design, Rachel spends her time as a freelance painter, combining her design expertise with her love for painting to create unique and expressive works of art. Passionate about storytelling through art and design, Rachel thrives at the intersection of creativity and purpose.

    Aliké is a high-energy creative with expertise in branding systems, marketing graphics, motion graphics, and user interface design. With a degree in Game Art and professional experience in the gaming industry, Aliké uses the psychology of play to enhance online and in-person learning experiences. When not crafting innovative solutions behind a laptop, you can find them exploring the world of arcade games or immersing themselves in art history exhibits.

    With a diverse background in corporate graphic design and a passion for custom illustration, Mallory brings a unique blend of creativity and professionalism to our team. Over the years, she has honed her skills in the fast-paced world of corporate design, working on everything from branding and marketing materials to digital assets for major campaigns.


    In addition to her corporate work, Mallory has built a successful career as a freelance anime-style illustrator. Her work is characterized by vibrant colors, dynamic compositions, and a keen eye for detail, making her a sought-after artist in comic and gaming communities.

  • Lead Instructional Designer

    Having worked with students from the ages of 9 to 60, in public and independent schools, in Arkansas and New York City, Christopher brings the experience of a 20-year veteran classroom educator to Verbal Eyes. 


    His deep understanding of the needs of learners and instructors of all ages and backgrounds allows him to create high-quality, adaptive, and engaging materials for the classroom or e-learning. His work combines an academic's commitment to research with a teacher's empathy for individual learners. He is a creative, divergent thinker who believes that education should be for the greatest public good.

Chapin-Critz

  • Owner | Director

    Melanie Chapin-Critz launched Verbal Eyes in 2018. Over a span of 20 years, Chapin-Critz has helped technical and academic clients translate their work into friendly communications for lay audiences. Her work in corporate and university settings has included:

    • technical writing
    • multimedia graphic design
    • instructional design
    • project management
    • teaching writing and English as a second language
    • research related to children’s health and education
    • evaluation of public programs and policies
